Know what's actually in your food. Scan a barcode, understand the label, decide for yourself.
Nectar is a mobile app for iOS and Android that reads the barcode on a food or personal-care product and explains what is inside it, in plain language. Instead of a wall of chemical names, you get an ingredient-by-ingredient breakdown and an overall score.
The point is that the score is yours. During setup, Nectar asks about your allergies, dietary restrictions, symptoms you are tracking, and the ingredients you would rather avoid. Every product you scan is then assessed against those answers — so a product that is fine for one person can be flagged for another.
Nectar looks the product up in open ingredient databases — including Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts and USDA FoodData Central — and then does the analysis on your device. Your health answers are not transmitted in order to score a product.
Nectar is an informational tool. It is not a doctor, dietitian, or allergist, and a score is not a safety certification. Ingredient data comes from third-party databases and can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong, and manufacturers change formulations without notice.
If you have a food allergy or a medical condition, read the physical label every time and follow your own qualified healthcare professional. Never use Nectar as your only check. Read the full disclaimer.
Your health information exists to score products for you, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we run no analytics or tracking SDKs inside the app. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
